Dear Fellow Americans,

I am tired, tired of waking up each morning to see another stupid tweet or lie from our President.  I am done, but not down.  The 2018 midterm elections can help all of us who are exhausted by this administration.  Let’s do this! Let’s rise up, get educated, educate others, keep the drum beating and get those who will continue to fight for what’s right elected.

If you haven’t yet found a way to plug in, here are some ways:

Swing Left- Control of the House in 2018 will be decided by a small number of “swing districts”, places where the last election was decided by a thin margin. Even if there isn’t a district close to you, there is still a lot you can do.

Indivisible- Get local and find a group, activity or event that you can get connected to.

State Democratic Party– Maybe you have an hour to make calls or a ½ day to canvass, or just a few minutes to read about candidate platforms while waiting in the carpool line.  Spread the word, get out the vote and let’s make sure we show up in big numbers for the midterm elections.

Vote– If you aren’t sure when you need to register, when your primaries are or who is running, check out this link to get informed.

I admit that I tend to associate with people who share my viewpoints. A good friend of mine shared her philosophy that in order for us to change what is happening in this country we need to get out of our comfort zone and find common ground with those who don’t share all of our viewpoints.  There are certainly those whose minds we won’t change, but there are those who we may.  We all have friends or associates who aren’t educated about the truth- maybe they spend all day listening to Fox News or right wing radio hosts.  Let’s commit to reaching out and finding that small bit of common ground- peace, safety, prosperity, etc. We may not see eye to eye on how to get to this place, but we’ve got to be willing to at least start with a conversation.

My exhaustion is fueling my energy for change.  Join me in building that energy.
